DESCRIPTION:Join us at Mental Health Day on the Hill on Thursday\, February 20th\, in Saint Paul. Whether you share your story\, stand alongside fellow advocates\, or learn about the latest mental health policies\, your presence will make a difference.  \nThe event begins at 10:00 AM with a welcome and policy briefing at the National Guard Armory near the Capitol (600 Cedar Street\, Saint Paul\, MN 55101). In the afternoon\, we’ll gather at 1:30 PM for a rally in the Capitol rotunda\, where legislators and advocates will speak. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet with your legislators and share why mental health policies are important to you. If this is your first meeting with your legislator\, don’t worry! We’ll provide training on effectively discussing current issues. \nThe official registration period has ended for transportation and meetings with your legislator\, but you can still sign up and we’ll do our best. If you don’t need transportation you can simply show up that day! Register using this form.

DESCRIPTION:Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ population. \nThis free training aims to improve LGBTQ+ (Lesbian\, Gay\, Bi-Sexual\, Transgender\, Queer +) awareness within workplaces and communities.\nThe three-hour training objectives include:\n• Explore the dimensions of gender.\n• Recognize ways gender and sexuality can create barriers for people.\n• Understand LGBTQ+ related vocabulary\, including the language preferred for use.\n• Learn ways to reduce homophobia\, transphobia and heterosexism.\n• Discover opportunities for becoming an ally and creating safe spaces.\n• Review recent data in MN and across the US impacting the LGBTQ+ community.\n• Identify LGBTQ+ resources.\nNurses and social workers are eligible to receive 3 CEU’s.\nEach training is limited to only 40 participants!\nThis training is co-sponsored by The Arc Minnesota and St. Cloud Pride.\nBrave-Safe Space Training Flyer (2-20-2025)
